Day 4 - Protecting Purity
“1 Peter 5:8 tells us to ‘be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.’ Parents, we have to be on the alert, stay engaged in this media agenda, and be proactive with our kids on what they are exposed to and what they have access to. It is our job to create a safe environment in our home where their purity is protected. This protection empowers our kids to later give to others and not walk with a relational limp themselves.”

Matthew 5:8 says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” As parents, we want kids who see, know, and go after God in ways we have only imagined. This can only be accomplished when we act as the gatekeepers to the sensuality of the age we live in. Research suggests 93% of boys and 62% of girls see porn before that age of 18. This is just one example of an area where we are called to set our kids on the right path in life by protecting their innocence.
